NEWSFLASH:
PAST EVENTS:
- Cedars Bellavia (Laheeb X Cedars
KenyaCatchMe), beautiful 2007 grey straight Egyptian Arabian mare, will be
going to Italy! Trainer Davide Mariani, on the recommendation of our friend
Raymond Mazzei of Furioso Arabians, purchased Bellavia at the Egyptian
Event. Bella produced a gorgeous filly by Mishaal in July 2012.
Congratulations, Davide!! We will miss our lovely girl, though. Perhaps we
can visit her in Italy one day...
- Hoping to offer these progressive clinics in 2012. This is
the information for the 2011 clinics: Increase your chances for success in dressage. Sign up for the
progressive dressage clinic series taught by Cathy Solan. The first clinic,
January 9 at 3:30 p.m., is Position. The clinic is limited to 6
horses, so don't delay! You can discuss your progress with Cathy and other
riders at the social following the clinic. Auditors are welcome. Cost is
$200 for the series or $65 for each clinic. Audit fee is $20 each. Mark your
calendars for the next sessions: Feb. 13-Transitions, March 13-School
Figures, and April 10-Lateral Work.
- Great turnout for our HorseFest Halloween.
Check out photos, with more to
come.
- Six French exchange students sponsored by Frederick, MD, host families
enjoyed swimming and a barbecue at Cedar Ridge Farm. The group visited
Frederick through Horizons du Monde, an educational travel organization. The
host families brought hamburgers and hot dogs to grill "American style, " as
well as salads and desserts. Click here
to see photos of the going away party.
- At Horsefest! 2010 on April 24, Liz Salmon gave an excellent
half-day sport horse in hand clinic. Liz,
who is a renowned equine consultant, also did written evaluations of the
Horsefest
sale horses. We had a sale horse barn to promote the horses of many breeds.
Watch the Horsefest! 2010 page for details.

Contact us if you would like Liz to return Fall 2011.
- Because of the tough economic times we are experiencing, we reluctantly
offer our wonderful Cedars KenyaCatchMe (Botswana X CDRS Farah Moniet) for
on-farm lease or sale. Kenya is a superb mare for an amateur or professional to show;
her sire was 2009 Egyptian Event Supreme Champion Stallion and 2010 leading
sire in all categories. She
produced a lovely Laheeb daughter, Cedars
Bellavia, in April 2007, which was sold in 2011 to Italy.
- We have limited edition prints by our friend, artist Deborah Rush,
available here; others can be ordered. We'll post some of them soon.
- Deborah's beautiful Egyptian Imperial Al Kamar daughter, Just One Look,
had a foal by Stormy Nile Legend (The Source cc X Masonnah by Shahir) in Fall
2010. See "Dixie" on our Sales Page.
- Our dear mare and best friend, CDRS Farah Moniet
(Imperial ImSirdar X AK Farette) died of colic early Sunday morning, May 17,
2009.
Farah produced many beautiful fillies and her first colt in 2008, Ninjah Al
Laheeb. Farah was my personal riding horse, my babysitter who looked
out for me, my sweet friend. I will miss her. Sadly, Ninjah died
three months later of complications from antibiotic treatment.
- Imperial
ImSirdar (Ansata Imperial X Imperial Sonbesjul X *Serenity Sonbolah),
our foundation stallion, is retired at Cedar Ridge Farm. Sirdar
was a triple dressage champion at the Egyptian Event in 2002 and we hope
he'll be ridden again by our dressage instructors. Any rebreedings due in 2010 will be honored by using Sirdar or his son Cedars
Mojave.
- RSA Sahra Nazeem produced a beautiful chestnut EBC Sirdar colt, Cedars Mojave,
February 27, 2008. He is very typey, leggy, perfectly
conformed, and moves boldly with great style and charisma Sahra's 2007
bay Sirdar son, the gorgeous, athletic Rashiiq Ibn Sirdar , has been
sold. We hope to rebreed Sahra to Sirdar in 2010,
hoping for a filly as refined as her two colts!
- The beautiful Cedars Amirat Al Alwan (True Colours X CDRS Farah Moniet)
was exported to the country of Qatar. Amira was purchased in September
2008 by Hassan Ali Hassan Al Matwi .
Although we will miss Amira's sweet greetings, we congratulate and wish her new owner the
very best. Sincere thanks to Liz
Salmon for making this sale possible.
