Campers learned about horses, how to groom and tack up; developed horsemanship skills; rode their assigned horses; got Fit to Ride; and led the horses through an obstacle course. Each camper also received custom-designed blue tee shirts. Our first campers were enthusiastic about the curriculum, loved our staff, really liked eating lunch together, and wanted even more riding in September. The next camp featured Equine dentist David Butts, who demonstrated the importance of good dental health to comfortably bitting and riding a horse.
